Why a black rectangle is not enough
If you only cover text in a PDF with a black box, the text often stays in the file and can be copied out. Safe redaction has to remove the text and image data from the file, including the metadata.

Are documents sent over the internet?
No. The goal is processing only on the user’s computer, so no additional recipient of personal data is involved.
Will it handle scanned documents?
We plan text recognition (OCR) and redaction directly in the scanned image.
Does it replace human review?
No. Automatic detection can miss something, so a person always approves the result.
