Automatically resize and tidy photos in a folder
Drop photos from a phone or camera into a folder and the program resizes them for the web or e-mail, rotates them and removes the GPS location.
This product is not on sale or available for download yet. We are checking whether businesses need it, and its scope may still change.
Why automate it
Phone photos are several megabytes and include the location where they were taken. Before posting them online or sending them, they need resizing and cleaning. Batch editors have to be run by hand, while a folder rule does it for every new photo on its own.
What the action should do
- Resize to a chosen width, height or file size
- Rotate by EXIF data so photos are never sideways
- Convert HEIC, PNG and TIFF to JPG or WebP at a chosen quality
- Strip metadata: GPS location, phone model, time
- Optional text or logo watermark
- Keep, archive or delete the original
Examples
- Product photos for a web shop in one consistent size
- Property photos with an estate agency watermark
- Service photos resized for a report without GPS location
How the program will work
- Runs in the background as a Windows service, even when nobody is signed in
- For each folder you set a file mask, such as *.pdf, and the actions to run
- Actions can be chained, for example convert to PDF/A, sign and send by e-mail
- Processed files are moved to an archive, failed ones are set aside with an error description
- Files are processed on your computer or network and are not uploaded anywhere unless that is the action’s purpose
Frequently asked questions
Does it support HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Yes, HEIC conversion is planned. Windows may need Microsoft’s free HEIF extension for it.
Will photo quality drop?
You set the quality and size. For typical resizing for the web, the difference is not visible on screen.
Are photos uploaded anywhere for editing?
No. Editing runs on the computer where the program is installed.
